Game Changers Live continues its special series in honor of the 40th Anniversary of Title IX with this week’s show: “Title IX at 40: The Impact on College Athletics.” While this legislation has had a tremendous impact on the evolution of women’s sports and women in sports, there are those who are in strong opposition of Title IX. Kevin Barnett, two-time Olympian (Indoor Volleyball) and founder of The Volleyball Network shared his thoughts on why Title IX hurts smaller sports like men’s volleyball. Kathy DeBoer, the Executive Director of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) joined Barnett and the GCL crew to give us her take. After spending 20+ years in collegiate athletics in various capacities (administrator, coach, and player) she shares her unique perspective.
